Hi i’m kait.

The Other Side of the Border

Originally from Scranton, PA (Go Birds!), I lived in NYC and Chicago before relocating to Mexico City at the end of 2022. I began working in Mexico back in 2017 on various music festivals, long before I found myself spending significant time on the other side of the border. It was during those years that I truly fell in love with Mexico—its culture, climate, people, and, of course, the food.

As a freelance executive event producer, moving to a new country was a risk, but one that has proven incredibly rewarding—both professionally and personally. My workload increased, while my quality of life improved. I gained the freedom to spend more time with my dogs, take Spanish classes, and say yes to last-minute Wednesday night dinners with friends.

Because of this experience, midway through 2025—after countless emails from people asking how to produce events in Mexico, particularly in Mexico City—I recognized a clear need for an in-between event consultant. Someone who could bridge the gap for international teams looking to produce events here without the local resources, vendor relationships, or cultural knowledge required to execute successfully.

That’s where I come in. Producing events in Mexico is unlike anywhere else I’ve worked. The differences between Mexican and American work culture are significant, and navigating them is often the most challenging part. Once you begin to understand that landscape, knowing which vendors to trust becomes the next critical step.

Fortunately, I’ve built strong relationships with some of the best vendors in Mexico City—across audio/visual, fabrication, catering, staffing, marketing, and production. Instead of flying in teams from abroad, working with Kalavera Events Kollective gives you direct access to top-tier local talent, ensuring your event is executed seamlessly and authentically, right here in Mexico.

Life of a Producer

As a freelance executive/senior producer specializing in experiential, music, sports, and brand partnerships, I’ve had the opportunity to jump into a wide range of projects over the years. With a foundation in music festivals, I was naturally pulled into leading sponsorship activations for global festival properties, thanks to my background in operations and logistics. Because of this, I consider my greatest strength to be fluency in both “operations speak” and “client speak”—and IYKYK, they are very different languages.

My core strengths include fabrication, overall event production, and sponsorship activation execution. Check out my portfolio to see highlights from recent projects over the past few years.

Looking ahead to 2026, I’m aiming to focus more heavily on music and sports activations, especially with the World Cup taking center stage.
